Austin Hillebrecht is back again, this time with his original illustrated story from 31 days of haunts, Thorncrest Manor.
Unlike Dirge City, This stories written component was more of a guide to what we the viewer was seeing. I have excluded this instead allowing Austin amazing illustrations tell the story for us.
One thing I love about this set is how much it invokes classic Black & White Horror films. In particular films like “House on Haunted Hill” (1959)and “The Haunting”(1963) come to mind as I look over these drawings.
Beautifully stylized and filled with such great uses of lighting. Enjoy!
I was born in the 1910s, grew up a little, found a time machine and have been passing as a modern day creative ever since. Freelance animation and illustration currently pay the bills and I also act, direct, write, produce, compose music and do visual effects for films and television. I have a Youtube sketch comedy channel I’ve created with my partner in crime Sean Parker called Hapstance Films. If you like absurd and slightly disturbing humor I suggest you give it a looky loo. I’ve always been a fan of the whimsical and the macabre and I try to make it a part of all my work.
